If you are new to Yoga, this is a great place to start. We are a small but mighty, loving community. We encourage all those who arrive to embrace where you are in body, and in mind.
Our classes age range from 20-72. Some start slow, some go all in. We have students, that have never practiced and slowly build and we also have students that have practiced 20-40 years.
What to know,
The hardest part, is showing up. Once you arrive, you are invited to give yourself the grace that is needed to build the practice over time. We work strength, gain flexibilty, create stamina and free tension out of the body. Thus giving the mind room to settle.
Here is what people are sharing about class experience with Amy
Over the years, I have attended a variety of classes with Amy at North of Ninety. No matter what type of class, Amy stays true to her mission statement on the front wall: " Develop Your Practice, Cultivate Compassion, Create Community". With her mindful sequencing, Amy consistently demonstrates the compassion and ability to instruct all levels of participants to develop their individual practices. In doing so, whether you are a walk in or a longtime member, you immediately sense the feeling of a welcoming community.

I've been studying and attending classes with Amy for close to twenty years. From classes to workshops to seasonal immersions and teacher trainings, I've done them all. There is a reason I keep coming back. Amy is an extraordinary yoga teacher- second to none.
She is dedicated, knowledgeable, and holds true to the traditional lineage of yoga. Her classes are crafted with logical sequencing in mind which assures a safe class whether you are a beginner or advanced student. Amy provides adaptations for modifying and offers challenges for those ready for the next level. You will leave class feeling grounded and healthier in mind, body, and spirit.
North of Ninety Yoga and Meditation Center is welcoming and friendly and has become a touchstone for those seeking a place of connection within the lakes region yoga community.

I have been practicing Yoga for more than 50 years. Amy has been my teacher since 2012. Simply put I have never practiced with a better instructor. Her classes are always intelligently sequenced. She puts a lot of thought into her classes and also has the ability to lead intuitively. Amy reads her audience and delivers exactly what is needed time after time. I feel my personal practiced has improved immensely with her thoroughly trained guidance. I always leave her classes energized and happy. Practicing with Amy is like celebrating being alive!

I attended classes with Amy many years ago. When I decided to return last year it was like I had never taken a break. Amy’s classes are always welcoming and supportive. I feel encouraged by Amy and her community to do my best, but never pressure to push beyond my comfort zone. The classes are quiet and calming, even the harder ones, which helps relax the mind and body.
Amy’s classes are so assessable! She seamlessly weaves in modifications and challenges throughout. It is almost like getting a private lesson but with amazing people.

Amy has been my teacher for many years. Her comprehensive understanding of anatomy and her embodiment of yoga's ability to challenge, enrich, and support the body and mind have been a tremendous gift in my life. It's a joy to watch her grow a community at North on Ninety around values we so desperately need, like compassion for the self and others, kindness, and deep contemplation.

I discovered classes at North of Ninety when I was somewhat new to the area, and Amy and this studio have been a real godsend. Amy is a skillful, experienced guide whose approach meets you exactly where you are, encouraging just the right amount of effort and ease, with gentle humor and grace. The studio is a cozy and intentional space that you step into and feel right at home. I especially appreciate that it's not just asana practice offered here. Amy integrates and honors the depth of yoga philosophy in a way that feels approachable and authentic. And if you want to go deeper in practice, there's more! I'm in my first immersion now, and it's wonderful. Deeply grateful that this place exists.
